Datenschutzerklärung
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal data when you visit faithfulfiber.com (the "Store"), buy from us, contact us or take part in our affiliate program. It is written to meet the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG/nFADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible (controller)
Faithful Fiber is a trade name of Jonathan Horridge, sole proprietor (not registered in the commercial register).
Postal address: Faithful Fiber, c/o JL Consulting Group GmbH #1699, Zürcherstrasse 84, 8852 Altendorf, Switzerland
Email: support.faithful.fiber@gmail.com
For all data protection questions and requests, please contact us at the email address above. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as none is legally required.
2. What personal data we process
- Contact and order details: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number (if you provide one), items ordered, order number, prices, shipping method, order history and complaints about defective, damaged or wrong items.
- Payment details: payment method, transaction ID and payment status. Full card or bank details are processed by the payment provider; we do not see or store them.
- Customer account (if you create one): login email, saved addresses, preferences.
- Communications: the content of emails and contact-form messages you send us (including complaints about defective, damaged or wrong items), and our replies.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, date and time of visits, and cookie identifiers.
- Affiliate data: if a visitor arrives through an affiliate link or uses an affiliate's discount code, the affiliate ID and the resulting order are recorded so the affiliate can be credited. If you join our affiliate program, we also process your name, email, social media profiles, PayPal email for payouts, referred sales and commissions.
- Newsletter (only if you subscribe): your email address and whether you opened or clicked our emails.
3. Why we process your data and on what legal basis
The legal bases listed below refer to the GDPR and apply to visitors and customers in the EU/EEA. Under Swiss law we process data in line with the principles of the revDSG for the same purposes.
- To process and deliver your order (production, shipping, payment, order emails, customer service, cancellations and warranty claims): performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- To meet legal obligations (bookkeeping and tax records, consumer-law obligations, answering lawful requests from authorities): Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
- To run a secure, working store (hosting, security, fraud prevention, technically necessary cookies, basic statistics without cookies) and to defend legal claims: our legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Analytics and marketing cookies, the affiliate tracking cookie, and our newsletter: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
- Affiliate program (managing affiliates and paying commissions): performance of the affiliate agreement, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and bookkeeping duties, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Providing your contact, shipping and payment details is necessary to place an order; without them we cannot accept or deliver it. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who we share data with (service providers and recipients)
We share personal data only as far as needed for the purposes above. Our main service providers are:
- Shopify (Shopify International Limited, Ireland, and its affiliates including Shopify Inc., Canada/USA): store hosting, checkout, customer accounts, order emails, cookie banner and store analytics. Shopify also processes some data as an independent controller for its own purposes, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.
- Printful (Printful Inc., USA, and its group companies, e.g. in Latvia, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Japan): production and shipping of most products. Printful receives your name, shipping address, email/phone (for delivery notifications) and order items. Printful also uses a Shopify app pixel to measure store events (e.g. page views, add-to-cart, purchases) for analytics and marketing; it is only activated if you consent to analytics/marketing cookies in our cookie banner (or, outside the EU/EEA, unless you opt out via "Your Privacy Choices").
- Shipping carriers (e.g. national postal services, DHL, UPS, FedEx and others chosen by Printful): delivery and, where needed, customs clearance.
- Payment providers: Shopify Payments (operated with Stripe) for card and wallet payments, and PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg) if you pay with PayPal. Payment providers also process data as independent controllers for fraud prevention and their legal duties; see their own privacy notices.
- GoAffPro (provider of our affiliate program software): affiliate tracking cookie, attribution of referred orders (order number, order value, discount code used) and affiliate accounts and payouts. Affiliates see only anonymised order information (no customer names or addresses).
- Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, USA): our customer-service email account (Gmail) where your emails are stored.
- PayPal is also used to pay affiliate commissions.
- Authorities, courts and advisers where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies and the consent banner
Our Store uses cookies and similar technologies.
- Necessary cookies (cart, checkout, security, saving your cookie choice) are always active because the Store cannot work without them.
- Analytics, preference and marketing cookies, including the GoAffPro affiliate cookie (stores the referring affiliate for up to 30 days so the affiliate can be credited for a purchase), are only used where you have agreed in our cookie banner, or, for visitors outside the EU/EEA, where permitted by local law.
Visitors in the EU/EEA see a cookie banner where they can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of the Store or by deleting cookies in your browser. If you use a browser with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale/sharing for targeted advertising where required by law. You can also use our data sharing opt-out page.
6. International data transfers
Our service providers process data in Switzerland, the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, Canada, the USA and other countries where products are produced or delivered. Switzerland, the EU/EEA, the UK and Canada are recognised as providing adequate data protection. For transfers to the USA we rely on the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified (e.g. Shopify, Google, PayPal), and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (recognised by the Swiss FDPIC) or another legally permitted safeguard. Where a product is shipped to a country without adequate protection, your shipping data is transferred to that country because this is necessary to perform the contract you concluded with us (Art. 17(1)(b) revDSG, Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
7. How long we keep data
- Orders, invoices and payment records: 10 years after the end of the financial year, as required by Swiss bookkeeping law (Art. 958f Swiss Code of Obligations).
- Customer service emails and warranty claims: as long as needed to handle your request and any guarantee or legal claims, normally up to 3 years after the last contact; longer if they form part of the accounting records.
- Customer account: until you delete it or ask us to delete it (order records are then kept as stated above).
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookies: for the lifetime shown in the cookie banner; the affiliate cookie expires after 30 days.
- Affiliate data: for the duration of the partnership; commission and payout records for 10 years.
8. Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted or its processing restricted, unless we must keep it by law;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
- receive your data in a common electronic format (data portability);
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (this does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal).
To exercise your rights, email support.faithful.fiber@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. We answer free of charge, normally within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in every email.
Residents of certain US states may have additional rights (e.g. to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" for targeted advertising). You can exercise them by email or on our data sharing opt-out page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Right to complain
If you believe we process your data unlawfully, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority:
- Switzerland: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch.
- EU/EEA: the supervisory authority of your country of residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. A list is available from the European Data Protection Board.
10. Security
The Store and checkout use encrypted connections (HTTPS). We and our service providers use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; please do not send sensitive information such as card numbers by email.
11. Children
Our Store is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Parents or guardians who believe a child has given us personal data can contact us to have it deleted.
12. Third-party websites
Our Store may link to other websites and social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest). Their operators are responsible for their own data processing; please read their privacy policies.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
